What a difference a year makes. this time last year I did the PSCo driving day, I walked away with the Black Flag, aka the “most dangerous driver” award. This time? I actually won a race. It was one of those days that had everything: full throttle competition, laugh-out-loud moments (especially being constantly just beaten by Will Smith by 0.08s, 0.02s… painful), and even a full evacuation after the chef set fire to the kitchen. But between the madness, there was something special about being surrounded by some of the sharpest minds in AV. Proper time to talk, catch up, and connect outside of the usual work chaos. Massive shout out to Blaine Johnstone, Tom Allott, Ben McLees and the PSCo crew for putting on such a memorable day, And to Absen, Brompton Technology Limited, @epson, and Ed Franklin at Absolute Casing Ltd for making it all happen. There was a bit of a life lesson in there too… Climbing into a Formula 3000 car and being told “you’ll be fine” as you’re sent out solo at 180kph is enough to make anyone think twice. But it’s funny how often we underestimate what we’re capable of, until we just do it. We all got out of our comfort zones. We all made it back in one piece.
